One Timer for the whole fleet. Set it in KueSync Control on any machine or phone and every Timer screen, Notes screen and clicker follows.
The situation. A 20-minute keynote with a hard stop at 2:00. The presenter wants a clock on the stage monitor with a warning at 5 minutes, and the moderator may ask for an extra minute.
The Timer is in KueSync Control, under the clock. To put it on a stage monitor, a confidence monitor or a screen over the internet, see Timer messages and Live notes.
Before doors
1Pick a mode
1Countdown runs down to the time limit. Count up runs up from zero. Time of day turns every Timer screen into a clock, 12 h or 24 h, with a time zone if you need one.
2Time limit and Set: type a time and press Set to load it on the clock and hold it.
3Time buttons, 1m to 60m, load that time on the clock, stopped and ready.
4The +/- buttons add or take away time, running or stopped.
5Reset goes back to the time limit, Pause holds the clock and Start runs it.
6The setup row: Warn at, STEP, At zero and Color.
2Set the time limit
Press a time button, or type in Time limit and press Set (or Enter). A plain number is minutes, so 20 is 20:00. 20:00, 1h30 and 90m work too.
A countdown that has reached zero stays ended until you load a time again, so one stray press of Start can’t put a finished segment back on stage. Reset reloads the same time limit.
3The warning and what happens at zero
Warn at turns the clock yellow at that time. A fresh Timer warns at 5:00. The switch next to it turns the warning off.
In Count up, Warn at has a time of its own, Off until you turn it on. The clock turns yellow once it has counted up that far.
At zero: Blink 0:00, Hold 0:00 (no blink), Blank (holds 0:00 for five seconds, then fades to an empty screen for a clean cut) or Count overtime in red.
Color is the at-zero color for Blink, Hold and Blank: red, amber, white, green or blue, each tuned to stay readable on any Timer background.
One screen different? Each machine’s Timer screen can choose its own at-zero look in Settings › Displays › Timer screen. Leave it on Fleet setting and it follows KueSync Control.
4Set your +/- steps
1STEP, in the setup row after Warn at, shows the two steps. It starts at 0:30 and 1:00.
2Small step and Large step: type any time from 1 second to 1 hour (5, 5s, 0:05, 2m, 1:30) or pick one.
3Apply. The four buttons now read minus large, minus small, plus small, plus large.
The steps are kept on the Leader for the whole fleet, so every operator’s KueSync Control shows the same buttons, and a backup Leader keeps them. Reset to 0:30 · 1:00 puts the defaults back.
Count up keeps Warn at and STEP; At zero and Color are for a countdown. On a phone, Warn at and STEP share a row.
5Land on a time: Hard out and Warp
Under the modes, Clock is the plain countdown. The other two land the Timer on a real time.
1Hard out: type Out at as a time of day, for example 2:00 pm or 1400. The Timer counts down to exactly that time, however late it starts.
2Warp: the presenter is shown the limit they were promised, and their clock runs slightly fast so it reaches zero at your real out, a time of day or a real length. They never see a jump.
3Update running clock warps a clock that is already running to a new out, from the number the presenter already has.
While a Warp runs, KueSync Control shows WARP: SHOWING REAL TIME and the real time left. Only you see it; no presenter screen does.
During the show
6During the show
A Timer screen in its warning, with Add time of day on.
The moderator wants a minute more: press + large step. It works running or paused, and every screen moves at once.
Track overtime keeps counting past zero as +MM:SS on your screen only. The presenter’s Timer still does what At zero says.
Add time of day puts a small clock at the top of every Timer screen.
Timer cues, under the messages, and Show Flow cues can set and start the Timer for you, with a Preroll of 1 to 60 seconds.
The Timer in its own window, beside Notes
Each part of KueSync Control opens in a window of its own, sized to sit beside the others: ⧉ Window on the Timer, ⧉ Notes for the teleprompter controls, ⧉ Advancers for the clickers, and Show Flow, the Mics list and Import. One operator can run the clock and the prompter side by side, or each window can go to its own operator.

From Companion and QLab
The KueSync · Timer presets in Companion have their own +1:00, -1:00, +0:30 and -0:30 buttons, and two encoders, ±10 s and ±1:00. For any other amount, use the Timer: Add / subtract time on the fly action with the number of seconds. Over OSC, send /kuesync/timer/adjust <seconds>; a negative number takes time away. These don’t follow STEP.
Troubleshooting
What you see
Fix
Start does nothing and the clock reads 0:00
The countdown has ended. Press a time button, Set or Reset to load a time, then Start.
The +/- buttons show times you didn’t pick
Another operator changed STEP. The steps are one setting for the whole fleet; open STEP to see or change them.
STEP won’t Apply
A step is 1 second to 1 hour. The box with a red edge has a time KueSync can’t read.
A presenter screen blinks when the others hold
That machine has its own at-zero look in its Timer screen settings. Set it to Fleet setting.
The presenter has more time than the real clock
A Warp is running. That’s the point of it: the real time is in the line under the clock in KueSync Control.
The Timer screen shows the time of day instead of the countdown
That screen is set to show only the time of day. In that machine’s Settings › Displays › Timer screen, set Time of day back to Follows fleet.
Pre-show checklist
The right mode, and the time limit loaded with a time button or Set.
Warn at and At zero agreed with the presenter.
STEP set to what this show needs, and the four buttons read right.
Hard out or Warp set if the segment has a fixed end.
One test: Start, +, Pause, Reset, seen on the stage screen.
