The show always runs on the fleet in the room. Internet adds people and screens that are somewhere else, each with its own link and PIN.
The situation. The Show Caller is working from home, a breakout room across the venue needs the Timer, and a keynote speaker presents from another city.
1Internet access: the one switch for everything shared over the internet. Off, nothing is shared.
2Uplink machine: the fleet machine that carries the connection to kuesync.com. Pick one with reliable internet.
3Backup uplink machine (optional): takes over if the uplink loses internet, and hands back once it has been back for a minute.
Links pass through kuesync.com encrypted and are not stored there. The show itself never depends on them. Set a Fleet Password (Settings › Security) so a backup Leader that takes over keeps the crew list and every link.
2Remote people
Show Caller (Settings › Show control › Over the internet): one person who calls the show from anywhere. Tick what they may run: Show Flow, GO, the Timer, slide decks. Left empty, the Leader is the Show Caller.
Control users: up to four. Each gets KueSync Control over the internet with every window it has on the fleet, and can run the whole show. Settings stay on the fleet machines. A press that reaches the Leader more than 2 seconds late is not taken, so a laggy connection can never fire a late cue.
Internet clickers for remote presenters: in Clicker links, choose Internet (Who is advancing?).
Crew: one Show Flow link per person, with the columns their role may edit, in Settings › Show Crew.
A new link and PIN are shown once. Copy them straight away.
3Remote screens
In Settings › Displays: Timer links, Notes links (a remote presenter’s notes, following the slides), Cue Lights links and GO Light links. Each opens full screen on any screen with internet, shows only that, and can change nothing in the show.
Choose each Timer link’s look on its own row; a change reaches its screen at once.
4Send it, or pair it
Email: add their address when you make the link.
Copy the link and its PIN and send them your own way.
Pair code: on the remote screen, open kuesync.com/pair and enter the code. Approve a pairing request in Settings only for a screen you just paired yourself.
Test with the person before the show. Have them open the link and enter the PIN while you are on the phone with them. That is the moment to find a blocked corporate network, not at doors.
During the show
5During the show
The Show Caller and Control users work KueSync Control as if they were at the tech table. You still have the same controls in the room.
Remove a link and it stops working at once. Removing the Show Caller makes the Leader the Show Caller again.
If the venue internet drops, everything in the room keeps running. Remote links need the internet to reach the show; with a backup uplink machine set, the fleet switches to it by itself.
Troubleshooting
What you see
Fix
The Internet sections say Internet access is off
Turn it on in Settings › Internet. Everything shared over the internet hangs off that one switch.
A remote person lost the PIN
It is shown once. Make a new link for them and remove the old one.
A link was forwarded to the wrong person
Remove it. It stops working at once.
A pairing request appeared that you did not start
Do not approve it. Approve only a screen you just paired yourself.
Remote links stopped while the room carried on
The uplink machine lost its internet. Set a backup uplink machine on a different connection.
Pre-show checklist
Internet access on; uplink machine (and a backup) chosen.
Every remote person and screen has its own link and PIN.
Each one opened once with the person, before doors.
Remote presenters’ clickers set the way you want (Who is advancing?).
A Fleet Password is set, so a backup Leader keeps every link.
