Who we are

Krometis Analytics ("we", "us") makes KueSync, networked show control software for live events and corporate AV. We are responsible for your personal data. Address: 6 Liberty Sq. #2690, Boston, MA 02109, USA. Contact: support@kuesync.com.

What we collect

We keep this minimal:

Purchase & license data: when you buy or rent KueSync, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details. We do not see your card. We receive and store your name, email address, order ID and, for a rental, the show or client name you enter, to issue your license key and invoice.
Account sign-in: when you sign in at kuesync.com/account we email you a single-use link and keep a session cookie for a day. We store only a one-way hash of the link and the session.
Email updates: if you agree to get KueSync updates and tips, your email address, name, how you agreed and when, and whether you unsubscribed. See Email updates below.
Support correspondence: anything you send us by email.
Website analytics: aggregate, privacy-respecting usage statistics to understand traffic. We do not sell this data.
Assistant chat: messages you type into the on-site chat are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. Don't include sensitive personal information in chat.
License check-ins: if you have entered a license key, the app contacts our licensing service at kuesync.com to activate the computer and, about every hour while it is online, to confirm the license. These requests send your license key, an ID for the computer (a key it makes for itself and a one-way hash of its hardware ID), its name and its KueSync version, used to count the computers on the license. It does not send your slides, decks or show content. The check runs in the background. If our service can't be reached, your show keeps running. With no key entered the app makes no licensing call at all.

The KueSync software itself runs on your own machines and your own network. Beyond the license check-in described above, it does not send your slides, presentations, or show content to us. The agent also periodically requests a small version file (latest.json) from our site to check for updates; that is an ordinary web request and carries no personal data.

Why we use it

To deliver and check your license, provide support, operate and improve the website, and prevent abuse. We process this data to perform our contract with you and for our legitimate interest in running the service. We send email updates only as described below.

Email updates

Receipts, license keys and rental reminders are part of your purchase and always reach you. Everything else is an email update: new features, tips and getting-started help. We follow one standard everywhere, Canada's anti-spam law, the strictest of the rules we sell under:

We send updates only to people who said yes and confirmed it, or to customers for two years after their last purchase or rental. A new purchase or rental starts the two years again.
Every update says who it is from, why you are getting it, and our postal address.
Every update has a one-click unsubscribe. It works at once, and the link keeps working for at least 60 days. "Unsubscribe from all KueSync email" also stops rental reminders.
When you unsubscribe we keep your address on a do-not-email list, only so we never email you again.
We never buy, rent or share email lists.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that make the product work: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and our database), Postmark (email) and our AI chat provider, each only to the extent needed. We do not sell your personal data.

Where your data is kept

We are in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you are outside the United States, your data is transferred there. We use providers that protect it with contractual safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses where they apply.

Retention

We keep purchase and license records for as long as your license is active and as required for tax and accounting, then delete or anonymize them. Consent records for email updates are kept while we email you and for three years after, to show we had your permission. Our backups never contain customer data.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

see the personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
correct it;
delete it, unless we must keep it for tax or accounting;
stop using it for email updates or another purpose you object to;
withdraw your consent at any time.

Email support@kuesync.com. We answer within 20 days and may ask you to confirm it is you. You can see your licenses and computers at kuesync.com/account. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. To keep assistant-chat data out of our hands, don't use the chat.

Children

KueSync is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 16.

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
